From the UK, the simplest way to send a gift to Uganda is to let a Kampala team prepare and deliver it for you. Message MistaGift on WhatsApp +256 759 633 013 or choose from the catalogue. We assemble hampers, flowers, cakes and surprise deliveries in our Kampala shop and hand them over in person, with your card in your words and a photo for you when it arrives.
This page is about choosing well: which gift suits which moment, how to time it from British hours, and what to expect at the door. For the step-by-step on paying in pounds, see our page on gift delivery to Uganda from the UK.
Choosing the gift for the person
For your mother. Flowers with something she will keep work well: a Mother's Day set, a fruit basket, or a hamper with a personal keepsake. A large, calm bouquet such as The Heirloom Bouquet (FL15) suits a birthday or a visit you could not make.
For a partner. Anniversaries and Valentine's Day call for something that feels considered rather than generic. Our love and anniversary collections include roses with jewellery sets, perfume, chocolates and wine. Aura & Ash (BD10) brings a very large bouquet together with balloons, cake and chocolate for a birthday that should feel like an event.
For a sister or friend who has just had a baby. A newborn package such as Cloud Nine Curation (NB1) is delivered to the home or, with some coordination, to the hospital.
For a difficult week. Get well gifts, sympathy flowers and apology gifts are quieter orders. Tell us what happened in a line and we suggest something that fits. Our guides on get well gifts and sympathy gifts explain the difference.
For a client or team in Uganda. If you run a business with Ugandan partners, see corporate gifts in Uganda. We can invoice, and branded or bulk orders need more lead time.
Graduations, weddings, introductions and Christmas are also common. If you have a specific cake design, a wine or a perfume in mind, ask and we confirm what we can source.
Timing from the UK
Uganda is three hours ahead of the UK in winter (GMT) and two hours ahead in summer (BST). Our WhatsApp is monitored from 8 AM to 8 PM East Africa Time, seven days a week, which is 5 AM to 5 PM in winter and 6 AM to 6 PM in summer.
Same-day delivery in Kampala is possible when you order at least two hours before the delivery time you want. For cakes, balloons and timed surprises, message us before 11 AM Kampala time, which is 8 AM GMT or 9 AM BST. For a planned date, ordering a day ahead gives us room to make it right. Outside Kampala, tell us the town and we confirm the delivery day before you pay.
A practical habit: if you think of it on a UK evening, send the message anyway. We reply when we are online in the morning, which is early morning for you.
Payment
The UK page linked above covers the options in detail. In short, payment details are shared on WhatsApp once your gift is agreed. Orders are confirmed only after payment is received.
At the door
The gift is presented by our team, not left at a gate. Surprises stay surprises: we do not call ahead unless you ask, and your name stays off the card if you prefer. You receive a WhatsApp photo once it is in their hands, and a short video on request.
Sending from elsewhere
MistaGift also has pages for sending gifts to Uganda from Kenya, Rwanda, DR Congo, South Sudan, Tanzania, Nigeria, the USA, Canada, Europe, or the UAE.
